Market and Launch

We had a great meeting tonight with 23 writers in attendance and 7 readers. Here is a quick recap or report of some of the announcements and news from tonight's meeting:

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
We will be starting a booth at the Henderson Farmer's market next Thursday, October 4th.
Any members of the Writers' Group with books to sell are welcome to contribute. You may come for the whole day (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) or for whatever portion of that day fits your schedule. If you have any questions please contact Jo Wilkins or Amanda Skenandore.
The farmer's market is located on the plaza at 240 Water Street in Henderson, and in addition to great not-quite-local (trucked-in-fresh-from-California) produce, the market sports a nice collection of handwork, crafts, and other treats. We plan to have a tent there every Thursday, starting October 4th.

BRAGS:
Congratulations to Gregory Kompes on a neat discovery by singer Christine Lavin with his new blog "A morning walk."

Congratulations to K. Ray Katz on the printing of his newest novel: "And Then They Were Kings."

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT:
"You said he was `shot below the window.' Exactly what part of the body was that?" -Darlene

UPCOMING MEETINGS:
Our next meeting is the monthly Westside meeting this Wednesday, September 26th at Roundtable Pizza. Our upcoming weekly Monday meeting will be held at the Community Lutheran Church on Tropicana. For more details please follow this link to the Calendar.

Our article this week is a short piece about the Book Launch for Writer's Bloc IV by Amanda Skenandore. To read it scroll down or select this link.
