BRAGS:
Congratulations to Donald Riggio on a great interview with Elaine Graco Chase this week. Also a big congratulations on 5 consecutive 5-star reviews on Amazon.com this week. And congratulations on hearing the song "Bouncing a kiss off the moon," which was inspired by his book Beyond Vinyl, on a 50s satellite radio station.
Congratulations to Judy Logan on her retirement! Here is the delightful poem about it she shared at our meeting:
Retired
No more writing training books,
No more bosses' dirty looks,
No more asking to go pee,
or, can I leave at half-past three?
No more begging for my alms,
or politics and funny farms.
Just freedom now to write my fiction,
Improve my accent and my diction,
Then go on tour and make a splash...
For all the days that I might last!
QUOTE OF THE NIGHT:
"I'm not cheap. I'm good."
WRITING TIP from Jo Wilkins:
"Remember to write tight. If your story wanders, so will your readers. If your character must analyze something important you will want to show the thought process, but all other times use concise language to get your point across.
Bad ex: I was about to go out the door when I discovered it was locked.
Good ex: I turned to leave and found the door locked."
UPCOMING MEETINGS:
Next week we are meeting Monday at 6:30 at the Lutheran Church on Tropicana. Next Wednesday (June 26th) is the Westside meeting at 6:30 in Skinny Dugans.

Have a good week.

Tuscan press is interested in Catholic themes, values, etc. These may be subtle or obvious, woven into modern or historical stories. Point is, if story would not appeal to the modern Catholic, it will not appeal to the publisher.
